Gift Basket Silent Auction at the Hopkinton Senior Center

Come do your holiday shopping early!

The bidding has begun for the Gift Basket Silent Auction at the Hopkinton Senior Center, and concludes at noon at the close of the annual Christmas sale on Saturday, December 3. There are more than 30 gift baskets now on display in the lobby. There are baskets for all interests, an authenticated signed Bruins Hockey stick, as well as 4 Celtics tickets.

The Christmas sale takes place on Friday, December 2 from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, and on Saturday, December 3 from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.

The Hopkinton Senior Center is at 28 Mayhew Street.

Massachusetts Lions Youth Speech Contest

The Massachusetts Lions Youth Speech Competition provides an opportunity for students to speak publicly and freely on a designated topic of general interest. The Hopkinton Lions Club level competition will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 7:00 PM at HCAM, 77 Main Street in Hopkinton. The topic is of the competition is "Being Politically Correct: Is It Taken Too Far?"

Each contestant will be judged on delivery, effectiveness and text of speech.

Prizes: Hopkinton Lions Club level Winner - $100

Scouting For Food Drive

Hopkinton Boy scouts, cub scouts and girl scouts will be dropping off bags at residents homes on Saturday November 5th as part of the nationwide drive for local food pantries, scouting for food.
Fill the bags with non-perishable food and household products and leave it by your mailbox before 10am on Saturday November 12th. The scouts will pick up the items and bring them to Project Just Because Hopkinton Food Pantry.

2017 Boston Marathon Invitational Entry Application Process

In accordance with Section 2 of the Hopkinton Marathon Policy, the Board of Selectmen invites applications for the upcoming 2017 Boston Marathon in the following manner:

Invitational entry applications will be distributed to qualified organizations through a random selection that will take place at a Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday, December 6, 2015. In order to qualify for the random selection, an organization must fit one of two category descriptions outlined in the Town’s Marathon Policy, namely:

Steel Beams Rise from the Ground: Construction on Our New Library Continues!

This fall, construction continues on the restoration, renovation and expansion of the Hopkinton Public Library at 13 Main Street. The steel structure for the addition to our Library can now be seen rising from the newly poured foundation. Construction on the site began on April 11, 2016, and will continue until the expected opening of our new Library in late Summer 2017.
