Hopkinton Winner for Andrew Abu Realtors Hydrant Hero

The winner of the drawing is the Maggiore-Thompson Family of Hopkinton. Amelia will be splitting the $250 prize with her step brother who also helped in digging out fire hydrants. Most importantly she will donate the other $250 to "food allergy research education" (FARE). Amelia lives with a life-threatening allergy to milk which is why FARE is so important to her. Their research goes towards and education, they are a wonderful organization who have made the lives of so many people with food allergies have hope and support in their daily lives.

Looking For Iwo Jima Veterans

On Thursday, February 19, the Marine Corps League will acknowledge the 70th anniversary of the battle of Iwo Jima with a ceremony at the State House in Boston. All Marines and Naval Veterans of that campaign are invited to participate and be recognized starting with a parade from Fanueil Hall beginning at 11:30 AM. The marchers will proceed from there to Beacon Hill with a ceremony outside the State House, followed by another observance inside beginning at noon. These events are open to all, and the Marine Corps League encourages and invites all interested citizens to attend.

Hopkinton Middle and High School Students are Cordially Invited to a Poetry Cafe on Wednesday, March 4 from 7:00-8:30 PM in the Middle School library. The snow date is March 9.

Meet local poet Cheryl Perrault and experience poetry in a new way! Find what inspires you to write, and share your poetry in this interactive, relaxed workshop. Bring a picture or an object for writing inspiration. Several HMS English teachers will be present and refreshments will be served.

2 Hopkinton Men Shot at Holiday Inn Express in Milford

A little after 10am Saturday Morning a shooting was reported in the back lot of Milford's Holiday Inn Express. Investigators determined shots were fired from 2 men. The alleged instigator Thomas E. Coburn III of Hopkinton (51 Years Old) was pronounced dead at Milford Hospital of what appeared to be suicide. Christian Nealon of Hopkinton (48 Years Old) was also armed and shot. Nealon was flown by medical helicopter to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester and stabilized.

HCAM Hosts 203 Pond St Discussion LIVE on February 17th

On Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., HCAM will host a live public discussion on 203 Pond St ahead of town meeting on March 3rd.

Town moderator Bruce Karlin will host this informative discussion, aimed at providing the public with everything they need to know ahead of town meeting. Representatives from Hopkinton and neighboring communities will answer questions on the Community Preservation Act, Open Space, and other key issues relating to this vote.
