At the Planning Board Meeting on Monday November 27th, the Board received an update on the downtown corridor project proposal. John Bechard of VHB gave the update on the Corridor project which is meant to ease traffic downtown while making it more safe for drivers, pedestrians and bikers. A good amount of discussion was about the proposed bike lanes that will be implemented downtown. View highlights of the discussion and full meeting below.

At this past weeks planning board meeting in addition to a public hering regarding whisper ridge and 143 spring street, they also continued the public hearing about 147 lumber street. The site developers presented changes to the proposed plan that were made since last meeting.

Please be advised that due to a fire hydrant re-location by the contractors installing drainage and sidewalks on East Main St., you may notice some discoloration due to the operation of shutoff valves. The work should be done by early afternoon. If you do experience any discoloration, let your cold water faucet run later this afternoon to help clear your lines.

NEWTON, Mass. – Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian and Arlington Police Chief Fred Ryan will participate in a pair of panel discussions on the opioid crisis on Wednesday, November 15.

BOSTON- Last night the Massachusetts Senate passed sweeping healthcare reform legislation S.2022, An Act Furthering Health Empowerment and Affordability by Leveraging Transformative Health Care. The HEALTH act, passed by a vote of 33-6, focuses on both short and long terms goals on how to fix our healthcare system to lower costs, improve outcomes, and maintain access.
