Margaret Mary Parduhn, 49, of Hopkinton, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 after a 2 year battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Mary Katherine (Stasser) Smith of Brighton, MI and the late, Gerald Lawrence Smith. She was the wife of 20 years to Michael John Parduhn of Hopkinton.

Cynthia Ann Martel, 57

Cynthia Ann Martel, 57, of Hopkinton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. She is survived by her beloved children Jessica S. Martel and Joshua M. Martel, as well as her husband Christopher B. Martel. Cindy also leaves behind two sisters, Debora LaPlante of Medfield, and Lisa Friedman and her husband, Jeffrey of Cambria, CA; her nieces and nephews: Lauren and husband Lynds, Christopher, Morgan, Sage, Sequoia, Uriah, Sawyer, Logan, Ashley, and Sierra. Cindy cloaked them all in a blanket of love.

James “Ed” McFaul, 93

James “Ed” McFaul, 93, of Hopkinton, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Mary Louise (Rose) McFaul and James Francis McFaul. He was the husband of 37 years to the late Suzanne T. McFaul, who passed in 2003.

Robert J. Lavoie, 91

Robert J. Lavoie, 91, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Jacquelyn (Irving) Lavoie, to whom he married for 53 years. Born October 26, 1926 in Milford, he was the son of Andrew and Mary (Rogers) Lavoie.

William R. Smith, 76

YARMOUTH - William R. Smith, 76, of Eastham, died suddenly at home Tuesday September 25, 2018.

Bill lived a life of service to others, whether a firefighter/paramedic for Yarmouth Fire Dept. for 30 years, as a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and board member of its St. Vincent DePaul Society, as a Habitat for Humanity volunteer who traveled with his own paint brushes, or his outreach to the “Bill W.” community. Bill cherished his sobriety and worked every day to maintain it.

Donald C. LaRoche, 80

Donald C. LaRoche, 80, of Hopkinton and formerly Holliston, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Golden Pond Assisted Living in Hopkinton. Don was the husband of 48 years to the late Angela M. (D’Aloia) LaRoche.

Don was a member of the Army Reserve and worked for 35+ years at Commonwealth Gas where he met his wife Angie. He was an avid Red Sox fan and a much-heralded pitching prospect at Bartlett High in Webster. Don and his family called Holliston home and enjoyed many summers along the Maine coastline (York and Kennebunk).

Lewis H. Benzon, 96

Lewis H. Benzon, age 96, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Hopkinton, died September 16, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Lewis H. Benzon, Sr. and Sylvia (Broom) Benzon. He was predeceased in 1999 by his beloved wife, Eleanor (Harris) Benzon, of 57 years, whom he met in a high school choir.

Richard “Dick” George Trudel, 80

Richard “Dick” George Trudel, 80, of Hopkinton, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home with his wife by his side. Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Doris (Daniels) and James Trudel. He was the husband of Julie Ann (Scott) Trudel of Hopkinton; they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on September 21st.

Iris Eileen Pentheny, 95, most recently a resident of The Meadows of Marlborough and formerly a 62 year resident of Hopkinton, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018. She was the wife of 53 years to the late Kenneth G. Pentheny. Born in Bristol, England, she was the daughter of the late Mabel (Peacock) and the late William Henry James. She is also predeceased by her five siblings: Kenneth, Phyllis, and Doris of England, Lilian of Hyannis, and Elsie of Australia.

Pasquale Pat Baratta, 79

Pasquale “Pat” Baratta, 79, of Hopkinton, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018. Born in Astoria, NY, he was the son of the late Maria (Cecchetti) and Michele Baratta. He was the devoted and loving husband of 54 years to the late Helen (Duchacek) Baratta, whom he missed intensely until he went to join her.
