Sadie E. Benson, 91

Sadie E. Benson, 91, of Hopkinton, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017. Born in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Jane (Robson) and Oscar Riedle. She was the wife of the late Estley M. Benson who passed away in 2002.

A lifelong Hopkinton resident, Sadie was an active member of Faith Community Church in Hopkinton and was a member of the former Joy Fellowship group. She was also active with the Milford Pine Street Baptist Church Women’s Group. She enjoyed time spent at the Hopkinton Senior Center.

Rosalie R. Martin, 77

Rosalie R. Martin, 77, of Hopkinton, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 2, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. Predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Paul A Martin, her mother Frances (Godsell) Kelly, father Thomas Seward, step father James Kelly and two siblings, Frances Dion and James Seward.

Robert A Richards, 85

Robert A Richards, 85, of Ashland passed away Thursday March 30th. He was the husband of the late Faith (Calhoun) Richards who died in 2005. Mr. Richards worked as a manager for General Motors until his retirement in the late 1980's. He was a proud grandfather, an avid golfer, amateur photographer, dedicated member of the Federated Church of Ashland and loved his flower garden. Bob served his country honorably with the Air Force during
the Korean War.

Mary E. (O'Connell) Mooney, 88

Mary E. (O'Connell) Mooney, 88, of Southborough, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was the wife of the late George A. Mooney, Jr who passed away in 1984. Mary was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and an Army (WAC) veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. While in the service she was stationed in Germany and Washington D.C. where she was assigned to the Pentagon and marched in President Eisenhowers 1952 Inaugural Parade.

Guelda G. Cain, 102

Guelda G. Cain, 102, of Hopkinton, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. Born in Grafton, West Virginia, she was the wife of the late Thomas J. Cain who passed away in 1986.

A former Framingham resident, Guelda was a longtime Hopkinton resident, living 28 years at the Hopkinton Housing Authority until her 100th year. She enjoyed family, reading, and needlework.

Eleanor B. (Lary) Anderson, 86

Eleanor B. (Lary) Anderson, 86, of Canaan, New Hampshire, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Newton Wellesley Center for Alzheimer’s Care. Born in West Canaan, NH, she was the daughter of the late Eva Vifian and Harry Foster Sr. She was the wife of the late Sidney “Sonny” Lary Jr. (who passed away in 1985) and former wife of Philip Anderson Sr.

William S. Peaslee, Jr., 90

William S. Peaslee, Jr., a lifelong resident of Woodville and a proud WW II Veteran, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the age of 90. He was the husband of the late Lois (Hiltz) Peaslee, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage and father of the late Kenneth D. Peaslee. He is survived by his daughter Beverly Mulkey and her husband Robert of Northborough and his son William A. Peaslee and his wife Laurie of Westborough.

William A. Stevens, 96

William A. Stevens, 96, of Hopkinton, passed away on March 4, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Dailey) Stevens who died in 2002. Born on March 18, 1920 in Newton, MA., he was the son of Charles and Eleanor (Johnson) Stevens, lovingly known as “Lefty Bill” to friends and “Bumpa” to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Inese Racenis, 57

Inese Racenis, 57, of Hopkinton, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017. She was the daughter of Irina (Ivins) and the late Rudolf Bunde. She was the beloved wife of 31 years to Martin Racenis of Hopkinton.

Besides her husband and her mother, Inese leaves behind her three sons, Aleks and his wife Lize, Marty and Peter; as well as her two brothers,Viktor and Rudy.
