Wendell “Roy” Wetherby, 84

Wendell “Roy” Wetherby, 84, of Milford and formerly of Hopkinton, passed away at the Blaire House in Milford on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Born in Montgomery, Vermont, he was the son of the late Pearl (Bressette) and Homer Wetherby. He was the husband of 21 years to Sandra (McGilvray) Wetherby of Milford.

Roy proudly served in the Army. Prior to his retirement 30 years ago, he worked as a town accountant for Hopkinton and then Acton. After retirement, he continued to keep busy working in a variety of areas. He enjoyed camping and riding his motorcycle.

Laurie Ann Shannon-Peaslee, 63

In Loving Memory with teary eyes and broken hearts, we sadly announce that Laurie Ann Shannon-Peaslee, 63, of Westborough, died unexpectedly on January 11, 2023, at Umass Medical Center, as a result of complications during her courageous fight with cancer. She was surrounded in her last minutes by her adoring husband of 23+ years, William A. Peaslee (former longtime resident of Hopkinton), her loving parents, Robert and Lois (DeSantis) Shannon of Milford; her sister-in-law, Beverly Mulkey of Northborough, and close friends, Kim Knox and Rick Souza of Milford.

Thomas I. (Tippy) Spinks, 73

Thomas I. (Tippy) Spinks, 73, of Hopkinton and North Conway, New Hampshire, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, after a 5 year battle with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou-Gehrig’s disease). Born in Framingham and growing up in Saxonville, he was the son of the late Georgia (Spinks) Browne and Jack Patterson. He was the husband of 41 years to the late Patricia M. (Wallace) Spinks who passed in 2017.

Robert Lim, 86

Robert Lim, 86, of Towaco, NJ, and recently of Hopkinton, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 27, 2023. Born in Fujian, China, he was the son of the late Kiok Siang Ko and Ah Hok Lim.

He was married to the love of his life for 52 years, Jane (Lee) Lim.

Garrett William Niland, 68

Garrett William Niland, 68, of Ashland and formerly Hopkinton, passed away peacefully at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Nancy (Norton) and George Niland. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Jean (Caldaroni) Niland.

Louis E. Merloni, 84

Louis E. Merloni, 84, a lifelong resident of Framingham passed away Mon. Jan. 23rd from complications due to Alzheimer’s Disease.

He was the son of the late Louis and Catherine (Datti) Merloni and the husband of Sandra (Langley) Merloni.

Mary Eunice (Mullins) Inman, 83

Mary Eunice (Mullins) Inman, 83, of Hopkinton passed away peacefully on January 18, 2023, surrounded by her children after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure.

Eunice was born July 21, 1939, in Framingham to Edna (Pyne) Mullins and John Mullins, Sr. Her family resided in Hopkinton. She was preceded in death by her parents and by the love of her life, her husband Stephen Inman, Sr. Eunice was also predeceased by siblings John Mullins, David Mullins and Kathleen (Mullins) Harrell.

Venkata Satyamani Malladi, 75

Venkata Satyamani Malladi, 75, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Andhra Pradesh, India, she was the daughter of the late Nagaratnam and Sreeram Murthy. She was the wife of the late Seshagiri Rao Malladi. Satyamani is survived by her son, Ravi Malladi of Hopkinton, and 2 daughters – Padmalatha Gunturi and Pallavi Malladi, 5 grandchildren – Vibha, Vishnu, Aditi, Mythri and Rishi. Also to mention her 2 son-in-laws, Bhanu Gunturi and Mohan Nadakuduti and daughter-in-law, Padmaja Malladi.
