Editorial: Supporting Jon Graziano for School Committee

By contributor,

If you haven’t actively followed the School Committee or the Elementary School Building Committee over the past couple of years, you may not be as familiar with Jon Graziano as we are. Jon is the guy standing with supporters on the corner of Main Street and 85 every Saturday, eager to meet you and answer all of your questions about his goals as School Committee Chairman and his hopes for the schools in the years ahead.

Editorial: Supporting Jean Bertschmann for School Committee

My name is Troy Mick and I am writing in support of Jean Bertschmann for School Committee. I had the honor of working closely with Jean when we joined the school committee together 6 years ago, and I continue to be impressed with the amount of time and energy Jean gives to the schools both as a School Committee member and as a general volunteer to many other town committees.

We are supporting Jon Graziano for School Committee because we have seen first-hand his profound commitment to the town of Hopkinton, and specifically our schools. We have known the Graziano family since before we all moved to Hopkinton. We are fortunate to have settled in such a wonderful town, with people like Jon giving much of his time to making our town even better.

The key to a thriving community like Hopkinton is found in the willingness of citizens to volunteer for committees and to serve as elected officials. Jean Bertschmann exemplifies that spirit and we are fortunate to have had her expertise and conscientiousness as a member of the School Committee since 2009. During that time, Jean has worked collaboratively with her fellow committee members, other town boards, and parents to enhance the system for all students.
