These photos are a valuable and hopefully permanent record of Hopkinton's military history.
Your fellow veterans represent all branches of the military, and the "poses" are from all eras of military significance. Most important, many of these handsome 20-somethings will share breakfast Friday morning at 0900 hours at the Senior Center. We look forward to you joining the camaraderie.
Tribute will be paid to comrades who passed-on during the past month, and those who are on "sick call" will be acknowledged. It will be a generous gesture to pay a visit to one or more of our ailing comrades.
Memories of military events that previously occurred on June 2nd will be shared. Various other announcements will keep you abreast of Hopkinton happenings relating to veterans. A free breakfast will be made available to anyone who correctly answers the monthly baseball quiz. Three players had an OPS (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage) above 1.000 in their final season: Shoeless Joe Jackson, Barry Bonds, and ____. Who is the third player?
Any veteran with transportation difficulties should call Amy Beck on/before 31 May 2017, 508 497-9730. Please encourage other Vets to attend the breakfast, and enjoy the camaraderie.
American Legion McDonough-Carlberg Post 202 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and blessing of the meal.
