Joan Y. Comeau, 81

Joan Y. Comeau, 81, died suddenly December 7, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was the wife of Roy Comeau, to whom she was married for 59 years. Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late George F. Dumas and Mary J. (Maddox) Dumas Leontie.

Joan was a 1954 graduate of Hopkinton High School and lived in Hopkinton for many years, where she and Roy raised their family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses: Gary and wife Kathleen of Ashland, Dale and wife Marcia of Framingham, Wayne and wife Melissa of Hopkinton, Kevin and wife Cathy of Marlborough, Theresa and husband Donald Roy of Milford. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves her sisters Barbara Dumas of Newton, Jean Dumas of Hopkinton, Marilyn Hayward and husband William of Hopkinton, and her brother George Dumas and wife Nereida of Puerto Rico. She is predeceased by her brothers James Dumas and Robert Dumas and her sister Victoria Stone.

Calling hours will be Monday, December 11, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home, www.callanancronin.com, 34 Church Street. The funeral will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home with a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 20 Church Street. Burial will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Hopkinton.
