Lamb Will Refuse State Job

Holliston, MA …Today Marty Lamb, candidate for Republican State Committee, announced that he will put the people first and will not be compromised by seeking a job or an appointment with the administration.

“Serving on the Republican State Committee should be about building the GOP, not a resume,” said Lamb. “I am not seeking this office as a career stepping stone. I want to recruit more candidates, register more Republicans, and rebuild the grassroots.”

Republican State Committee members are elected on March 1st during the presidential primary. There are 2 members elected from each Senatorial district for the 80 member board that governs the GOP within Massachusetts. The incumbent State Committeeman is currently employed by the Baker administration.

“As a member of the State Committee, I will vote for the people. I will not have a conflict of interest in serving on the Committee. Furthermore, my focus will be on the entire ticket, not just working for a candidate who could employ me,” said Lamb. “We need a State Committeeman with only one priority.”

“I will have the courage to take on the party establishment on such issues as reinstating the charter for the Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women. I will encourage more outreach groups, not less,” said Lamb.

Lamb was one of the original Chairmen of the successful effort to repeal automatic gas tax hikes. In 2013, when the legislature linked the gas tax to inflation so that it would increase every year without a vote, Lamb stepped forward to be a Co-Chairman of Tank Automatic Gas Tax Hikes. He helped build a grassroots team that collected 120,000 signatures within 9 weeks. During the second round of signatures, the team collected another 26,000. When the Office of Campaign and Political Finance prohibited the ballot team from telling the public how legislators voted on the issue, Lamb started a PAC to educate voters.

During the last year’s election cycle, Lamb helped numerous candidates running for office via the PAC and volunteering on campaigns.

Last summer Lamb stepped forward once again to prohibit tax dollars from being spent on the Olympics. He has also been the Republican nominee for the Massachusetts House and for Congress. In 2010, he won a 5-way congressional primary. For the past 4 years, Lamb has been the Holliston Republican Town Committee Chairman. He has volunteered on numerous campaigns. Most recently, he helped Diehl for Senate. Lamb was the only candidate in this race to help the only partisan race occurring in Massachusetts at the time.
