Video: Hillers Baseball Update 5-24-2017

On Thursday May 18th, the 7 and 5 Hopkinton Hillers took on 11 and 6 Ashland. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd, Jake Leblanc came up with bases loaded and no outs. Leblanc knocked in 2 RBI's with a basehit to put the Hillers up 2-0. Ashland scored a run in the top of the 4th to make it a 2-1 game, Hillers added on to the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 5th, with 2 outs and 2 on, starting pitcher Brendan Kelly crushed a 3 run HR over the Centerfield fence to put the Hillers up 5-1, the Kelly 3 run homer scores himself, Brian Gaughan, Chris Burdick.

Ashland wasn't giving in however. Ashland scored 4 runs in the top of the 6th and tied the score at 5-5 heading to the bottom of the 6th. Stephen Simoes had something to say about that as he hit a solo shot over the right field fence to start the bottom of the 6th and allow the Hillers to reclaim the lead. Zach Sisitsky struck out the side on the top of the 7th and the Hillers held on and won the game 6-5.

Despite solid work on the mound from Brendan Kelly, it was Zack Sisitsky that ended up with the Win on the mound. Kelly contributed huge with his 3 run jack in the 5th and Stephen Simoes ends up scoring the decisive run with his solo shot in the bottom of the 6th.

The Hillers took 2 of their next 3 games defeating Medway and Westwood. The Hillers Baseball team stands at 10 and 6 on the season and has clinched a trip to the post season. View highlights of the wild game with Ashland below.
