Video: Hillers Softball Update 5-25-2017

Before taking on a tough Millis Mohawks team, the Hillers softball team celebrated their 5 Seniors: Maille Bennett who will be playing at Stonehill College Next year, Heather Holly who is heading to Dominican University, Lindsay Whittles who will be at Wheaton College, Lily Rancatore and Madison Abbott.

Millis scored the first runs in the top of the 3rd. With bases loaded three runs scored off a flyball by Hannah Finley that was dropped in right field by Lily Rancatore. The Hillers struck back in the bottom of the inning scoring three runs of their own. Emily Whelan, Katy Holly and Lindsay Whittles all struck for RBI singles to tie the game at 3.

No more runs would score until the bottom of the 5th. The Hillers added 3 more, Heather Holly hit an RBI single followed by a Lindsay Whittles sacrifice forceout and then a couple batters later with 2 outs, Julia DiBenedetto pinch hit and added on to the lead with an RBI single. The Hillers went up 6-3 and that is how the score would stay as Hopkinton improved to 15 and 2 overall.

The Hillers have since defeated Medway and Westwood and are 17 and 2 overall. Hopkinton will start the postseason on their home turf. View highlights of the exciting senior night game versus Millis below.
