Weston Nurseries to Host Pink Day on July 30

By contributor,

Weston Nurseries, Inc. announces that it will host its first Pink Day on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Hopkinton and Chelmsford Garden Centers. Pink Day is a fundraiser event at garden centers across North America to raise money for breast cancer research.

A portion of sales will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure. Customers will be invited to shop for Invincibelle® Spirit Hydrangea (the first pink Annabelle hydrangea) and Pink Ribbon Plants™; $1.00 for each Invincibelle® Spirit Hydrangea sold, and 10% of the wholesale cost of Pink Ribbon Plants™ will be donated to BCRF. BCRF’s goal is to raise $1 million dollars; Weston Nurseries is proud to join this effort.

Weston Nurseries will offer other benefits to participating in Pink Day. All plants that have pink flowers in bloom, or the word "pink" in the tag description (if it's not currently blooming) will be 25% off. The pink theme will be applied to raffles and activities, lemonade, and balloons. Customers are invited to wear pink in support of Pink Day.

Local breast cancer organizations have been invited to attend Pink Day and share the important work they are doing. They will have information on services, events and volunteer opportunities.
