In an effort to promote business growth in Hopkinton, Town Manager Norman Khumalo commissioned Land Use, Planning and Permitting Director, Elaine Lazarus, to design a comprehensive manual for prospective business owners. The result was a document entitled the Business Guide.
The project, which took about a year to complete, was the first collaboration by the town and the Chamber of Commerce's newly formed 20/20 initiative. Hopkinton 20/20 was made official in September, with the goal of utilizing the chamber's expertise in business to help advance the town's economic development efforts. Lazarus says that those involved with 20/20 were instrumental in fine-tuning the final document.
And so far, the partnership between the two has been successful, as the guide is starting to generate some interest from business owners looking to possibly move into Hopkinton.
