Chamber of Commerce Honors Six Local Businesses at Holiday Party

Six local companies celebrating significant anniversaries were recognized by the Chamber of Commerce at the Holiday Party held at the Hopkinton Country Club on Wednesday, December 7th.

The evening's events were kicked off by Chamber President Bob McGuire who introduced the six companies.

  • E.L. Harvey and Sons -- 100 years
  • Golden Pond - 20 years
  • Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects - 35 years
  • Perkin Elmer - 30 years
  • Wayland Realty - 50 years
  • The Hopkinton Independent - 12 years

After dinner was served, the official program began and included a short speech from Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, Todd Cestari, who spoke about how the town and the Chamber were working together for Hopkinton's future. He also thanked the businesses being honored.

In addition to Chamber members and supporters, local town and state officials were on hand to pay their respects and Representative Carolyn Dykema and Senator Karen Spilka presented citations to all six companies.

The main part of the evening was spent reviewing the business successes of the six companies being honored.

Chamber Executive Director Tim Kilduff also spoke and talked about the new normal that he sees in Hopkinton. He also talked about the potential for economic growth and the changes he thinks will be necessary as Hopkinton moves forward.
