Main Street Corridor Proposed at Zoning Advisory Public Forum

By Michelle Murdock, Freelance Writer

Every year the Zoning Advisory Committee, better known as ZAC, holds a public hearing to solicit input from town booards and the general public with respect to zoning changes. This year, the Chamber of Commerce presented three initiatives and amendments to ZAC at its October 18 meeting, all of which are designed to support increased economic development.

While their recommendations related to the Site Plan Review process and zoning amendments drew little comment, their proposal of a Welcome to Hopkinton Front Door Planning Corridor, along West Main and East Main streets from Downey Street, all the way to Clinton Street, generated a lot of discussion.
