Price Chopper Open for Business

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

After several months of construction, Price Chopper in Hopkinton Square is now open for business. Prior to the store's official grand opening June 21st, Price Chopper welcomed customers into the store by hosting a preview party the night before. The preview party is a tradition that marks the opening of every new Price Chopper, and allows the store to extend a welcoming hand into the community by raising money for area organizations. The event raised over $2,000 dollars for three local non-profits; Hopkinton Youth Soccer, Baypath Humane Society, and Project Just Because. And with several state and town officials on hand, the store officially opened up for business the following morning.

Based in Schenectady New York , all of Price Chopper's 129 stores located throughout the Northeast are owned and operated by the Golub family who are excited to be a part of the Hopkinton community.

The 40,000 square foot store features a fresh bakery, a deli section, a readymade food section, a seafood counter, as well as a Starbucks. And customers can sit and enjoy the food they've just purchased at the cafe. And with an emphasis on providing premium customer service, patrons enjoyed free food samples, coupon savings, and a raffle for a $250 gift card. Overall, customers were impressed with their shopping experience.

Price Chopper is located at 167 West Main Street.
