This past Tuesday, Rebel the Therapy Dog made her weekly visit to the Hopkinton Public Library. Rebel is a Swiss Mountain Dog who enjoys meeting people and you can find her in the Young Adult Room every Tuesday from 2:30 until 3:30pm.
All boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2018 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge. Artists Alex Dunn and Brandon Rhoads will present an artist talk and demonstration Street Dreams. A body of Alex and Brandon’s latest work, Street Dreams, will be on display at the HCA (Barn Loft Gallery) between 9/20/2018 – 10/16/2018.

The Forest of Arden comes alive in Brown Box Theatre Project’s 8th Annual Free Outdoor Shakespeare tour, As You Like It. When a motley cast of characters finds themselves banished from the court, misdirection, desire, and serendipity unite to form a tangled web of identity and love that could only be possible in this pastoral haven, where gender roles, politics, and expectations are turned upside-down.
The August Community Pasta Supper at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29. All are welcome to this event, which is being supported by the churches of the Hopkinton Christian Service Connection. This pasta supper is held for the community on the last Wednesday of every month.
The meal will feature pasta (gluten free available), vegetarian tomato sauce, meatballs on the side, green salad, bread, beverages, and dessert.
The pasta supper is free, although donations will be accepted.
On a rainy Saturday afternoon, Weston Nurseries hosted "Trucks, Tractors & Games". The event featured some activities for the kids and a number of indoor & outdoor train displays. Although the bad weather kept Snappy Dogs closed, a few made the trip over to enjoy the cool displays around the facility. HCAM's Alex Walton was at Weston Nurseries to capture some scenes from the event.
This past week, a week long empowerment camp for Girls called Move took place. The camp was started by Ashley Olafsen and Lexi Phipps and features a number of activities to promote self confidence and positive body image for Girls in 6th through 12th grade. The Hopkinton Police Department hosted their 5th annual National Night Out. National Night Out is a country-wide community building program that allows community memebers to meet local law enforcement officials. With a few exceptions, the event is typically hosted by different Police Departments around the country every first Tuesday of August.
