Marion Clover, 95

Marion Clover, 95, died Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Cedarwood Gardens in Franklin. She was the wife of the late George Clover, who died in 2005. Born in Norfolk and raised in Wrentham, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Doris (Ormes) Bennett.

Marion taught kindergarten and preschool in her home in Hopkinton for 39 years. Many people in town fondly remember attending "Mrs. Clovers" when they were young. When she wasn't teaching, she enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts.

Hopkinton Public Library Launching Two New Community Learning Initiatives

Library Director Nanci Hill and the Hopkinton Public Library are pleased to announce two new learning initiatives that aim to help community members learn new things, engage and connect.

Coffee House Series
The library, in partnership with the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation and the Hopkinton Cultural Council, will host its first Coffee House event in April as part of a new series. The first event will feature a performance by Flamenco Boston.

Metrowest Symphony Orchestra Family Concert May 5th at HMS

The Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Max Hobart, will present a Family Concert on May 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Hopkinton Middle School auditorium, 88 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton.

The concert will feature Franz Krommer’s Concerto for 2 Clarinets, Op. 35 with guest soloists. Thomas Martin is associate principal clarinetist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and principal clarinetist of the Boston Pops Orchestra. He will play this piece with his wife Kai-Yun Lu, principal clarinet of the Atlantic Symphony. They make beautiful music together.

Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is excited to announce their nineteenth annual Arts in Bloom exhibition, juried by Claudia Fiks.

Arts in Bloom is a competitive juried annual show open to all artists. Fiks will choose the artwork to be exhibited and select six outstanding works for awards. The six winning artists will receive cash prizes totaling over $1,000.

Marilyn S. Moore, 96

Marilyn S. Moore, 96, of Milford, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Jesse (Slade) and Harold Soper, from Bonavista, Newfoundland.

Marilyn worked as a nurse’s aide for many years and enjoyed taking care of her patients. After retiring from healthcare, she worked at a local vegetable stand, becoming a friend and confidant to their regular customers. Throughout her life, she would love to bake, especially her famous marble squares for others to enjoy.
