Hopkinton Fire Department Reminds Residents to Change Their Clocks, Check Their Alarms as Daylight Saving Time Begins
Chief William Miller and the Hopkinton Fire Department would like to remind residents to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when setting their clocks ahead for daylight saving time this weekend.
Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 12, and clocks are moved ahead one hour at that time.
Hopkinton Fire Department Shares Scald Prevention Safety Tips During National Burn Awareness Week
Chief William Miller and the Hopkinton Fire Department would like to provide safety tips to residents as a part of National Burn Awareness Week.
Burn Awareness Week, organized by the American Burn Association (ABA), began this year on Sunday, Feb. 5 and ends on Saturday, Feb. 11. This annual campaign serves as an opportunity for fire officials to share common burn prevention messages with their communities.
This year's Burn Awareness Week theme is "Hot Liquids Burn Like Fire!" in an effort to remind people of simple but important steps to take to prevent scald injuries.
Community Notice: Hopkinton Health Department Falls Prevention Clinic
We are hosting a fall prevention clinic for the residents of Hopkinton, targeted at age 55 and older.
This will be our third clinic where we will have podiatry, pharmacy, ophthalmology and physical therapy onsite to see the residents after their fall risk screening.
They can sign up by QR code or call the health dept.
Will be held Jan 26th from 9am until 1pm at the Hopkinton senior center.

Hopkinton Fire Department Shares Holiday Fire Safety Tips For Decorating This Season
Chief William Miller and the Hopkinton Fire Department would like to share important fire prevention tips for community members to be mindful of while decorating for the holidays.
According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), fire departments across the country responded to an average of 790 home structure fires per year caused by decorations, excluding Christmas trees, in 2015-2019. During that same period, fire departments also responded to an average of 160 home fires per year started by Christmas trees.
