Full Depth Excavation Operations the Week of June 27

Full depth excavation includes the removal of the existing pavement and gravel to subgrade (approximately 22 inches), then the replacement and compaction of the gravel, and the replacement of pavement, except for the final pavement which will be done at the end of the project. Traffic will need to drive on compressed gravel for several weeks.

On Monday, June 27, removal of the existing pavement will begin on Main Street just past the Fire Station and move west toward Pleasant Street. Eastbound traffic will be detoured from Main to Pleasant to Grove Street.

On Tuesday, the work will continue from Pleasant Street to the westbound project limit and Wood Street with a
single lane of alternating traffic in place.

On Wednesday, June 29, the removal of existing gravel will begin at Pleasant Street and move east toward the
Fire Station. Eastbound traffic will be detoured from Main to Pleasant to Grove Street.

On Thursday, the removal of existing gravel will begin at the project westbound limit and Wood Street and
continue east to Pleasant Street. A single lane of alternating traffic will be in place.

Working hours will be extended Monday through Friday to 5 p.m. to allow all areas to be excavated by the end
of day on Thursday, June 30.

A single lane of alternating traffic will be in place for Friday, July 1. All work for the project is planned to be
complete by noon on Friday, July 1, if possible, in advance of the July 4th weekend.
