Apple Crisp: A Polyarts Tradition

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

Saturday, September 17th is the annual Polyarts Festival on the Town Common. The festival began in 1974 as a way for local artists to showcase their talents to the community. The daylong event features live music, crafts, and a longstanding Hopkinton tradition, the apple crisp made by the Friends of the Library.

This year library friends Barbara Beale and Liz Edwards have volunteered to head up the effort of making the apple crisp in order to keep the tradition alive. Using the secret recipe, they will be making the apple crisp from the day before the festival, Friday, September 16, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church from 8am to 4pm, and encourage all members of the community to help out.

Listen to the HCAM News video and Beale and Edwards talk about keeping the apple crisp tradition alive and how many tray of crisp they are planning to make.
