The Hiller's fall sports season is officially underway! On September 6th, the boys' cross country team kicked off their season with a 17-47 win over Ashland. The 5k race goes through the state park.

Under federal and state special education regulations, Hopkinton Public Schools has a duty to locate, identify, refer, evaluate and, if eligible, provide a free, appropriate public education to students with disabilities who reside in the town of Hopkinton. On Wednesday, September 5, Hopkinton High School welcomed a new freshman class to the school, as students arrived toting laptop computers in their backpacks. After months of planning and preparation, the school year began with the roll‐out of a new 1:1 laptop program. Most students at Hopkinton High School are leasing brand new Macbook Air computers operating on the newest Apple operating system called Mountain Lion.
The 1-1 Laptop Program at Hokinton High kicked off this week as incoming freshman and their parents attended training programs to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The Hopkinton School Committee is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement with Dr. Steven Hiersche to serve as the Interim Superintendent of Schools for the 2012-2013 school year. School Committee Chair, Nancy Alvarez Burdick, reported that "The Committee is looking forward to having Dr. Hiersche join the leadership team. Having a veteran Superintendent with both mentoring and management experience will positively affect this year's priority mandates and initiatives, which will improve learning for all students in Hopkinton."

As part of the search for an interim superintendent, the School Committee interviewed three finalists before selecting Dr. Steven Hiersche, the former superintendent of the Framingham Public Schools.
