National Honor Society Hosts Senior Tea

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

On April 10th, members of the Hopkinton High School National Honor Society (NHS) gathered in the cafeteria for the annual Senior Tea event, which allows students and seniors to come together, giving an opportunity for those in the community to connect with each other that might not otherwise have gotten the chance to.

The seniors really enjoy the event, as many come back year after year. For 92 year old Helen Cady, it was her third time attending the event.

And it's not just the seniors who benefit from the day's event either. Juniors Molly Abate, Cristina DiFazio, and Senior Anna Thornton all enjoyed talking to and learning from Cady.

NHS Treasurer Sam Chirco, who coordinated the event alongside the rest of the NHS officers, also participated in a day of giving back held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Currently there are 156 students that are members of NHS. In order to be accepted, students must demonstrate exemplary aptitude in scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
