The sun was shining, the High School was filled with runners and the anticipation was building. The months of prep had led Bill Goebel of Westborough to that moment at 11:15 when the gun went off and he began the 26.2 mile run that he had been waiting for; his first Boston Marathon in support of the Hopkinton Education Foundation. "The crowd support was amazing and like nothing I've experienced before and am still amazed that I could run for 26 miles and kept my hand up hig h fiving people the entire way."

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) presents master songwriter
and storyteller Ellis Paul in concert on Saturday, May 13 at 8 p.m. Paul is an American folk musician and
traveling songwriter with 5,000 shows and 25 years of road miles under his wheels. He's produced 20
albums of his own music, written songs for Grammy winners, had songs on television and in movies and

Do you want to learn to sharpen your digital skills to better navigate the online web of news, opinion, fact and spin we are inundated with every day? Editors and news outlets are being overwhelmed -- not just in politics, but in business, sports, and other coverage.

Live4Evan's 2017 Marathon Team of Don Brown and Brian DeSena raised $17,956 for the Hopkinton organization whose mission is to support families of children with heart disease. The funds raised will go directly to Live4Evan's housing program. The organization has recently signed a lease for the second year on an apartment for families whose kids are being treated at Boston Children's Hospital. The Treblemakers, a regional adult chorus based in Hopkinton, will be presenting their spring concert on Wednesday, May 24, at 7:00 pm. The concert is entitled “Yesterday, Once Again: Music You Know and Love.” Come enjoy an evening of tunes from the 60s and 70s that will have you reminiscing and singing along. Admission is $15, $10 for seniors and children under 5 are free. The cost includes light refreshments after the show. It will be held at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts’ new building in the Delbridge Performance Center, at 98 Hayden Rowe Street in Hopkinton.

As we approach the start of our roadway resurfacing season I would like to thank the residents of Hopkinton for their continued support of our Pavement Management Program. We had a very successful 2016 season and hope to continue that in 2017 as funding allows. Each street that is on this year’s list has been inspected and evaluated to determine which treatment method is best based on its current condition. This will help ensure that we are maximizing the use of our roadwork funding.
