School Committee Approves Superintendent Contract

At their meeting on January 11, 2018, the School Committee approved the contract for the next Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Carol Cavanaugh. Dr. Cavanaugh and the School Committee have agreed to a three year contract with a salary of $180,000, and terms similar to Dr. MacLeod's current contract.
Dr. Cavanaugh will officially assume her duties on July 1, 2018, and will work closely with Dr. MacLeod and the School Committee to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.

Video: Elmwood School Kicks Off 20th Year

For the 20th year, Elmwood hosted the annual swearing in ceremony for their Wee Deliver program. The program allows students to learn what it's like working to operate a post office. The program helps build skills, teamwork ability as well as other applicable experiences which relate to the real world. Principal Anne Carver explained the program at the ceremony and Hopkinton Postmaster, Carl Zagame swore in the Postmasters as well as the rest of the student participants in the program. Superintendent Search: School Committee Interviews & Public Forums Scheduled

The Hopkinton School Committee is pleased to announce that interviews have been scheduled with the four finalists recommended by the Superintendent Search Screening Committee, for the position of Superintendent of Schools. Each finalist will be individually interviewed by the School Committee, following a visit to the district, which will include a tour of each school and meetings with administrators, faculty, staff and community members. The hour-long interviews will take place in the Middle School Library.

The Hopkinton School Committee is pleased to announce that the Superintendent Search Screening Committee has identified four outstanding candidates for further consideration by the School Committee for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The fifteen member Screening Committee included representation from the School Committee, the Board of Selectmen, the district’s administrative office, building level administration, teachers, community representatives, and parents.
