St. Paul’s to Host Public Hearing on Refugee Crisis June 26

On June 26 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will be hosting a Public Hearing on the Refugee Crisis. This event, modeled on Congressional Hearings, will be a town- and region-wide event to examine the refugee crisis led by three outstanding “expert witnesses” with questions by a panel of Christian and Muslim clergy. There will be an opportunity for questions and statements from the floor. The hearing is free and open to the public. The Hopkinton Center for the Arts is located at 98 Hayden Rowe Street in Hopkinton.

Roadwork Update 6-16-2016

A contractor working for the Town of Hopkinton in preparation for street resurfacing will be installing asphalt shim work on Wednesday June 22nd and Thursday June 23rd from 7am-5pm on the following streets.

Downey St – Full length. (Wednesday)
Downey PL – Full length (Wednesday)
Hayward St – South St to Second Rd (Wednesday & Thursday)
South Mill St – Ash St to Holliston line (Thursday)

One lane of traffic will be open at all times but expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.

Trash and Recycling Public Hearing Notice

The Hopkinton Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 8:30 PM in the Town Hall on the renewal of the Town’s contract for recycling and solid waste removal. The public is invited to attend the public hearing to ask questions and provide comments to the Board.

Comment letters may also be submitted at the Town Manager’s office during regular business hours, or via email to selectmen@hopkintonma.gov.

Touch-A-Truck and Food Truck Festival Raises $14,000
for the Renovation and Expansion of Hopkinton Public Library

Hopkinton Public Library Foundation’s 5th Annual Touch-A-Truck and Food Truck Festival raised $14,000 for the restoration, renovation and expansion of Hopkinton Public Library, now under construction. The event hosted 2000 kids and adults on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the Hopkinton High School Parking Lot.

Public Notice: Fire Flow Test for Library Monday June 20th

Please be advised that a required fire flow test for the Library, will take place on Monday, June 20th, at 10 PM. Customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities, during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. You may need to run your cold water line to clear your internal pipes once the test is complete.

This year Memorial Day festivities took place in-front of a packed house at St. Johns Parish due to rain. Lieutenant, Michael Foley was the keynote speaker. Other speakers included: Representative Carolyn Dykema, Selectman Co-Chair, John Coutinho, Mia Coutinho, Kevin Nathan, Michael Whalen, Father Cannon.
