America’s First Day Hikes 2015

On January 1st, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will host America’s First Day Hikes 2015 at 12 park locations across the Commonwealth. With over 450,000 acres, spanning Boston to the Berkshires, Massachusetts state parks boast a variety of beautiful settings for year-round outdoor recreation, and each hike will offer a unique natural and cultural environment. The First Day Hikes tradition began more 20 years ago in Massachusetts, and has now become a national event. 2015 will mark the 4th consecutive year that all 50 states have held First Day Hikes.

24-hour "Spinathon" Fundraiser To Help Pets Get Needed Medical Care

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- PetChance.org, a national nonprofit located in Northborough, MA, is holding its first-ever major fundraiser. The 24 hour "spinathon" event called "Pedal For Paws" will run from 10am on Saturday January 31, 2015 through 10am on Sunday February 1, 2015 at the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough, MA.

Up to 24 teams of 24 riders will be spinning on bikes for one hour per person in an effort to raise money for Pet Chance. Prizes, music and other fun will accompany the spinning, where riders are welcome to be as "competitive" or as "leisurely" as they wish.

Run the 2015 Boston Marathon for the Library!

The Hopkinton Public Library Foundation (HPLF) is seeking TWO individuals to run the 2015 Boston Marathon to raise money for the Library restoration, renovation and expansion. 2015 is the groundbreaking year for the new library, as well as the Library’s 120th year serving the Hopkinton community! Last year, HPLF runners raised over $20,000 for the new Library. Join us as a member of the HPLF Boston Marathon Team, and help us to raise funds for the much-needed renovation and expansion of Hopkinton Public Library.

Foundation for MetroWest Supports Arts Programming in Hopkinton

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a $7,000 grant from the Foundation for MetroWest (FFMW). The grant will support the administration of the HCA’s growing music program, which offers private and group lessons and classes for students of all ages and levels of ability.
