Senate Passes Bills on Non-Binary Gender License Option, Road Safety; Overrides Welfare Cap Veto

BOSTON —The Massachusetts State Senate on Thursday passed legislation allowing for a non-binary option for gender on drivers’ licenses and birth certificates, new requirements for cyclists and motorists that promote safety for everybody who uses the road, and a final effort to lift the so-called ‘Cap on Kids.’ All three bills passed with overwhelming bipartisan support.

Senate President Spilka, Chair Hinds Announce Members of Revenue Working Group & Convene First Meeting

BOSTON – On Tuesday, the Massachusetts Senate announced the members of its Revenue Working Group during a press conference in the newly renovated Reading Room, adjacent to the historic Senate Chamber in the State House. Immediately after the press event the Revenue Working Group convened its first meeting.

Video: Board of Selectmen Approve 3 Ballot Questions for 2019 Town Election

The Board of Selectmen approved 3 ballot questions for this years Annual Town Election. The ballot questions include: 1) Under-ride in the amount of $1,180,568, 2) Purchase of a Ladder Truck for the Fire Department and 3) Municipal Parking in the downtown and/or adjacent at Town Hall.

Town Meeting will take place starting on Monday, May 6th and continue on Tuesday May 7th and Wednesday May 8th. All nights will start at 7pm. The Annual Town Election will be on Monday, May 20th.

HCAM Presents the 2019 Town Election Contested Races Debate

On Wednesday May 1st at 7pm, HCAM will host Hopkinton Town Election debates for the contested races. This year there are 5 contested races: Board of Selectmen, Town Moderator, Commissioners of Parks & Recreation, Commissioners of Trust Funds and Planning Board (2 year term). The debates will take place in the HCAM studios which are located at 77 Main Street on the lower level. Panelists this year include Freelance Reporter & HCAM Board Member, Michelle Murdock and HCAM News Director, Tom Nappi.

Hopkinton Parks and Recreation Department Easter Egg Hunt Saturday April 20th at Center School

This Saturday, Hopkinton Parks & Recreation Department hosts their annual Easter Egg Hunt. The event will take place at Center School due to expected rain 11am-Noon. Festivities include pictures with the Easter Bunny and some Easter Eggs for the kids.
