Alternate Wiring Inspector

Per Diem position reporting to the Municipal Inspections Director. This position would be called to assist when the Inspector is unavailable and is required to respond within 24 hours.

Inspector performs electrical inspections; Answers homeowner/electrician questions; and Administers and enforces Electrical codes.

Requires valid MA Electrical License in good standing; well-versed in the Residential and Commercial National Electrical Code and good communication skills. Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Senate Passes Legislation Promoting Children, Families, Health Care Access and Investment in the Commonwealth

The Massachusetts State Senate on Thursday passed legislation that reaffirms the Commonwealth's commitment to providing support for women, members of the LGBTQ community and children and families in need. The Senate also gave final approval to a $135.9 million supplemental budget for the Fiscal Year 2019.

Hopkinton Republican Town Committee Caucus Friday April 12th

The Hopkinton Republican Town Committee will hold a caucus to select candidates for the May 20, 2019 Town elections on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Fire Station 2nd floor Training room on Main Street. Hopkinton, MA 01748.

The meeting is open the public however to participate in the Republican Caucus one must be a Hopkinton registered Republican or an unenrolled voter that must have been registered as unenrolled for at least one week prior to the caucus. Those registered as Democrats and as a 3rd party may not participate in the caucus.

Middlesex Sheriff’s Office urges residents to be aware of ongoing jury duty scam

BILLERICA, Mass. – The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO) is warning residents to be alert for a new round of jury duty scam calls.

As part of the scam, callers are posing as members of the MSO and are telling residents they need to resolve matters related to missed court matters and jury duty. In multiple instances this month – including two this past weekend – scammers identified themselves as a Sgt. Cooper and provided 781-819-5610 as a call back number.

The Hopkinton School Bus Application Period for 2019-2020 is now open.

Students in Grades 7-12 in the 2019-2020 school year, who wish to ride the school bus, pay a fee for busing.

The deadline for fee based busing is May 1, 2019.

Representative Gordon, Chief Bongiorno join Middlesex County Restoration Center Commission

Gordon (D – 21st Middlesex) and Bedford Police Chief Robert Bongiorno, Jr. have officially been named to a commission tasked in part with breaking the cycle of arrest and incarceration for those with mental health and/or substance use disorders in Middlesex County.

Despite lots of practice by the Police Department, the talented Special Olympics team put up triple digits and took the game 100 to 50 to stay undefeated.
