MEMA to Host Functional Exercise for the 2018 Boston Marathon

FRAMINGHAM, MA – On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), in collaboration with the Boston Athletic Association (BAA), the 8 cities and towns that host the Marathon, and the dozens of local, regional, state and federal agencies that support public safety operations for the event, will conduct a large-scale functional exercise for the 2018 Boston Marathon.

The Planning Board currently has one vacancy and the Town is seeking candidates for the
position. The term of office will expire at the May, 2019 election.

The Planning Board is an elected board, whose members serve five year terms. The
establishment of municipal Planning Boards is authorized by Mass. General Law, Chapter 41,
Section 81A. Among its many diverse roles, the Board is charged with the following duties,
which are contained in the General Laws and the Hopkinton Zoning and General Bylaws:
