Middlesex Sheriff's Office announces registration for the 2024 Youth Public Safety Academy is open

Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian is pleased to announce registration for the 2024 Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA) is now open.

Now in its 24th year, YPSA is an educational and affordable summer program that is open to all children living in Middlesex County ages 8-12. Older children have the opportunity to become a Counselor-in-Training. The program is comprised of five, one-week camps and is held at the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Training Academy in Chelmsford.

HDTC is holding state caucus March 1

The Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee (HDTC) will be holding its caucus to nominate Democratic State Convention delegates on Friday, March 1, at 6:00 PM at the Hopkinton Town Hall in the second floor Select Board room, 18 Main Street, Hopkinton. Participant check-in will begin at 5:30 PM and will close promptly at 6:15 PM.

The purpose of the Hopkinton Democratic State Caucus is to elect delegates to the Democratic State Convention to be held on June 1 in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Hopkinton Fire Department Continues Winter Community Risk Reduction Programs to Improve Safety

The Hopkinton Fire Department, in collaboration with the Hopkinton Senior Center and Department of Public Works, is continuing the Sand & Socks for Seniors program with the goal of reducing falls.

Hopkinton Fire Department Receives Nearly $18,800 Grant for Firefighter Safety Equipment

Chief Gary Daugherty is pleased to report that the Hopkinton Fire Department received a $18,790 grant from the Department of Fire Services Fiscal Year 2024 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program.

The Hopkinton Fire Department will use the funding to purchase multiple hoses in varying sizes and nozzles. The new equipment will allow the Hopkinton Fire Department to outfit both front-line pumpers with new hoses.

Town of Hopkinton Now Accepting Vendor Applications for Marathon Weekend Celebration

Marathon Celebration to Take Place on Hopkinton Town Common April 13-14

Town Manager Norman Khumalo and Parks and Recreation Director Jon Lewitus announce that the Town of Hopkinton is currently accepting vendor applications for an event on April 13-14 to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boston Marathon starting in Hopkinton.

Hopkinton Firefighters Participate in Multiagency Federal Radiological Training Program

Chief Gary Daugherty is pleased to share that the Hopkinton Fire Department recently attended a federal radiological and nuclear training program alongside first responders from agencies around the region.

The training was hosted by the Easton Fire Department at Stonehill College in January in partnership with the City of Boston Police Department's Securing the Cities Program.
