Edward B. Mitchell, 85

MASHPEE/NAPLES, FL - Edward B. "Ted" Mitchell, 85, of Mashpee, MA. and Naples, FL. passed away on Oct. 10, 2015 at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. He was the husband of Frances (Calia) Fabbricotti Mitchell and the late Dorothea M. (Carey) Mitchell who died in 1978.

Mr. Mitchell owned and operated Milly Mitchell's Restaurant in Mendon along with his family for many years before his retirement in 1985.

Frederick J. “Fred” Carty, 82

Tunbridge, Vt.— Frederick J. “Fred” Carty, 82 died Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 at his home in Tunbridge, Vt. He was born July 28, 1933 in Providence, R.I. the son of Justin and Frances (Stanley) Carty. He spent his early years in Woburn, Mass. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Fred worked ten years at the Draper Corp. in Hopedale, Mass. and worked the next twenty years as a partner in the Farrar and Carty Landfill in Milford, Mass.

Paul Francis McCormack, 84

Mr. Paul Francis McCormack of Milford MA, (5/31/1931 ~ 9/25/2015) died on 25 September 2015 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Quattrochio) McCormack.
Son of D. Joseph and M. Lillian (McDonough) McCormack, he was born in Milford.
He attended St. Mary Grammar School and High School, graduating in 1948. Also a graduate of Providence College in 1952. He completed a Master’s Degree at Assumption College in 1962.

Richard Francis Keough, 67, of Hopkinton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Martha J. (Miller) and James R. Keough. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline L. (Brunetta) Keough who passed away in 2003.

Rick was a Navy Veteran of Vietnam serving on the USS Sierra. He was a member of the Hopkinton Auxiliary Police for 34 years and was a Boy Scout Leader.

Christine Rose Gorman, 83

Christine Rose Gorman, 83, of Hopkinton, passed away September 6, 2015. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Josephine (Lorenzo) and Albert Alberico. She was the wife of William F. Gorman of Hopkinton. Christine was a graduate of Framingham High School. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Diane Crosby, Michael Gorman, William A. Gorman, and Donna Mulhall. Doris E. Connor, 97

Doris E. Connor, 97, of Hopkinton, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Cora (Kimball) and Herman Larter. She was the wife of the late William Connor.

Doris had worked for Farrar Fire Truck Builders in Woodville until her retirement at the age of 65 and then went on to work as a bookkeeper at Smith Mill until the age of 91. She was a member of the 4th Marine Division Alumni. She loved her dog, Iwo.

Jason Hurton, 36

The Winchendon Fire Department mourns the loss of 36 year old Winchendon Firefighter Jason Hurton.
Both Jason and his wife Karen have been members of the Winchendon Fire Department call force for over 3 years. Jason has also served as a firefighter on both the Hopkinton and Upton Massachusetts Fire Departments before moving to Winchendon.
Tuesday evening FF/EMT Jason Hurton was discovered by his wife FF/EMT Karen Armstrong Hurton unresponsive at their home. Despite the best efforts by responding members and Heywood Hospital staff Jason passed away at the Heywood ER.

Marion E. (Davis) Burke, 92

Marion E. (Davis) Burke, 92, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Connecticut after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Newton, daughter of the late Albert W. and Florence (Tully) Davis, she moved to Hopkinton in 1942 where she was married and raised her children. As a devoted wife and mother, "Meme" created a welcoming and loving home.

Mari-Jo C. Harney

Mari-Jo C. Harney, of Southborough, MA and formerly of Hopkinton, MA, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on July 24th, 2015, after a battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Joseph, and her sons, Joe, Jake and Justin. Mari-Jo was the daughter of Joseph F. and Esther (Grandy) Charlebois and was born in Potsdam, NY.
