The Board of Directors of the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has announced that the orchestra will begin rehearsing and performing primarily in Hopkinton. Performances will be held at Hopkinton High School or Middle School, as well as the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) and other area locations.

To coincide with the move, the MSO is accepting applications for its Board of Directors. Experience with finance or publicity is helpful but not required. Hopkinton residence is not required. Those wishing to apply should visit http://bit.ly/mso-board. Applications will be accepted through February 19.

The MSO has provided musical enjoyment and education to the Metrowest community since 1973. The orchestra also provides opportunities for professional and volunteer high school and adult musicians to come together and share their love of music. Under the guidance of Music Director Max Hobart, the MSO performs a variety of classical and pops concerts throughout the year.

On November 12, 2023 the MSO performed at the Hopkinton Middle School with guest pianist Constantine Finehouse, presenting a varied program of Rossini, Ravel, Bizet, and Grieg.

According to MSO Board Chair Dr. Bruce Karlin, the opportunity to work with students from Hopkinton and surrounding towns, as well as to partner with local arts organizations such as the HCA, was an important incentive to rehearse and perform in Hopkinton.
