Oh, handsome Chester! Months of diligence, consistency, and a caring foster home have allowed him to make significant strides in reaching his best potential as a canine companion. He is truly a diamond under a rough coat.
Chester is a mixed breed, weighing approximately 65lbs and is around 2 years old. He is goofy, playful, and inherently loyal. As a strapping young lad, he thrives on being active with moderate exercise and being kept busy. He'll do best having a secure, fenced-in yard to be his domain to romp around in without the distractions of passerby's. Pending a proper introduction, he may enjoy living alongside another dog.
Since coming to our shelter in need of support, he has made significant progress in learning about how to be appropriate and polite when introduced to new people. He's also getting better at feeling settled and confident when left alone, and has nearly mastered good house manners (including house-training)! While this is a continuing journey for Chester, he is a loyally goofy boy who keeps you smiling. If you have a patient, dog-experienced family looking for a notably affectionate and loyal dog, we can help support your family and Chester. Since he sometimes has issues sharing possessions, we are recommending a home with adults or older teens.
