Town of Hopkinton Welcomes New Employees to Communications, Finance Departments

Town Manager Norman Khumalo is pleased to welcome two new employees to the Public Safety Communications and Finance Departments.

"We are pleased to welcome Teddy and Samantha to the Town of Hopkinton," Town Manager Khumalo said. "They will each play an important part in ensuring our Communications and Finance teams are able to serve Hopkinton residents to the best of their abilities."

Theodore "Teddy" Gutwill, Per Diem Dispatcher
Gutwill has previous experience as a Per Diem Dispatcher for the Town of Berkley. In his new role, he will assist the Hopkinton Public Safety Communications Department serving as a vital link between the community and public safety officials for emergency responses and other calls for service.

Gutwill holds an associate degree in criminal justice. He started with the Town on Jan. 12.

Samantha Polk, Finance Department Administrative Assistant
Polk comes to the Town of Hopkinton from a Wayland physical therapy office where she worked as the Credentialing & Patient Care Coordinator since 2022. She handled customer service, maintained patient records and schedules, and assisted with training and onboarding new staff. She has previous experience in the financial industry having worked at Middlesex Savings Bank and Milford Federal Bank.

In her new role, Polk will assist the Finance Department in its day-to-day operations, including accounting, payroll, procurement and grants, and more.

Polk is a Public Notary and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration. She started with the Town on Jan. 10.
